This article covered voting and the importance that it be accurate with the upcoming election. It covered the Florida mess up with the punch cards in the 2000 election. After that Congress gave money to states in order to allow them to buy electronic voting machines. However, these voting machines are thought to be faulty. They are said to flip votes from one candidate to another and to even completely throw some votes away. I found this article pretty interesting. My guess is states were given money and bought the cheapest machines they could so they could buy other things. Like candy...well maybe not candy but you get the idea. The article goes on to talk about a new plan. This plan will count all electronic votes and compare them with the same paper votes taken. If there is any difference then the paper votes will have all the weight of deciding what is correct. I really liked this article because I seldom hear about all of the technicalities of voting. I actually felt like I learned something from this article.
