The article made a very strong argument calling for more community involvement in trying to stop school violence. It begins with a story of a boy being shot after school on his way home. It then says how the school had reacted and steps it took to ensure future safety. He compares this with the actions taken by the county and shows the large difference between the two. The author provides two more examples, and then calls for action to be taken by the counties where this type of violence occurs. Although making a very good point, I would have liked for the author to offer advice on what the counties could do to increase safety. Other than that is was a very good concise yet information filled article.

It seems this article did a good job of getting across the problem. By including the story of the little boy getting shot it helps get the point across. I think the author should have given suggestions on how to solve the problem.
The story of the boy is a good tool to get people to get on your side, but it doesn't seem that he added anything much after the story. If he would have backed it up with facts and other tools it would have helped.
While this article might have by eyecatching and entertaining, it was not at all informative and was way too focused on the story of the little boy. The author should have given a follow up to how to solve the problem and then backed it all up with factual information.
I think violence in schools might be a bigger deal than people are making it out to be. Bad things like this happen especially to schools in not-so-good neighborhoods. You would think the schools would take immediate and harsh action when things like these happen, but they really shouldn't allow them to happen in the first place.
