Md. court expands definition of rape; woman can revoke consent mid-act

This article talks about how the state of Maryland expanded the definition of rape. The intro duction sentence, "The definition of rape just expanded in Maryland, where the highest state court ruled yesterday that a man could be charged with raping a woman who withdrew consent after they started having sex, according to The Sun", is a pretty interesting one that made me want to read the whole article. The article gives information on a previous case where this happened. This seems pretty wrong to me, because if given consent and then you start the act...then consent is taken away, you are to blame and get put in jail. I thought it was kind of interesting and seemed almost un-fair.

That's amazing. So if a girl wants to get back at a man, she can have sex with him and take away her concent. Then he will be arrested. Something is wrong there.

This very interesting; the author used a good first sentence to draw the attention of the audience. I would like to see if this ruling is appealed to the Supreme Court.

Well just because rape tends to center around women doesn't mean that this law doesn't apply to men also. If they want to take consent away in mid-act then they can too.

I can see why officials may expand the definition of rape, but I do not think this is completely fair. You should be able to change your mind in the middle of sex, but the other shouldn't be put in jail for it.
