The article started off by relating to a recent Forum piece written by Jean Strauss, that talks about the benefits of an open adoption. The author in this editorial completely agrees with the opinions of Strauss and uses personal experiences as well as facts to get her point across. By using her own experiences she captures the emotion of the reader and keeps you interested. I really think that the author did a great jop using experience, examples, and facts to get her point across. She talks about how with an open adoption both the birth mother and the adopted parents will have a part in the childs life and both will be completely satisfied. I think this article makes a very good point and is written really well.

That is great that the author used emotion and personal examples to portray the benefits of open adoption. But perhaps she could have mentioned the benefits of a closed adoption as well, just because that is another side of the issue, and nobody should be bias in writing a piece like this which would influence a huge decision for a person adopting or seeking to give their own child up for adoption.
This seems to be a really well written article. I think that bringing in personal experiences is a really good way to relate to the reader.
This is very interesting that people would want the birth mother involved in the child's life after the adoption. I wouldn't want to have to worry about my kid wanting his/her birth mom instead of me.
