This article is giving the facts about Google,Microsoft, and Yahoo. More than half of Americans used Googles search engine rather then Microsoft and Yahoo. Microsoft has placed a bid to merge with Yahoo. Microsoft and Yahoo have more clients for e-mail and instant messaging than Google. Google does not want the two to merge because it would stifle competition. The author thinks that the internet would be better served if Yahoo and Google would join up. The author states that Microsoft has a history of bullying and that it just looks out for itself. I think the author is very biased when it comes to Microsoft. The author clearly thinks that Microsoft is trying to undercut all competitors and only states negative things about Microsoft. Nothing negative is said about Google or Yahoo. It is a good article because it does state a lot of facts about the situation. The author does a good job of convincing you not to like Microsoft and for you to feel for the underdog.

Although it sounds like a sound argument and the author presented a lot of facts, he could have alienated the people who like Microsoft. However, I do think it was helpful that he gave another proposal and then supported it. Calling Microsoft a bully though I do not think supported this claim; he should have used other language or an actual example.
This is an interesting article. I never thought about using a search engine anywhere else but Google. I also never knew they made money from being a search engine, but I recently figured that out. It makes sense that everyone is trying to be better than Google. I've even seen ads on TV for search engines. I think the bigger Google gets, the harder it's going to be to try and stop them.
I think the author should have given more explanation as to why microsoft is so bad. I can not say that I have ever even used the microsoft search engine.
I agree that the author should have given further facts rather than just talking against google.I think this is a tough argument as google is most popular.
Microsoft has it's hand in so many things and always wants to be the best. It doesn't suprise me that they want to monopolize on this.
