This article talks about the biggest meat recall in history of more than 143 million pounds of beef, some of which that went to school programs. Even though meat from sick cows is banned, meat from most of them was sold and caught on video. On video, the workers were abusing animals in order to get them to the slaughterhouse. The author points out that the Congress needs to reconstruct the food inspection program and give more power to the Food and Drug Administration. Also pointed out is the Bush administration’s cutbacks on budgets.
This article was very informative. It makes me more aware of what we are eating and how even though it might have FDA approved sticker on it, it still comes from bad meat. The author seemed very passionate about this issue but used good sources to seem credible.

Being biased along with being reliable is sometimes effective. You could obviously tell that the author was passionate about what he was writing about. It seems like a well written article; hopefully they will make changes to stop this from happening again.
This is the type of stroy that made me want to become a vegitarian. The Food and Drug Administration seems to not know what the heck they are doing becuse so many things like this keep happening. I guess there's really no way to tell if your meat is safe anymore and that's scary. I might just say I'd stick to veggies and friuts for now, but there's harmful chemicals in there too. I think this country really needs to tighten up the food production industry before we have a major breakout of something bad.
There is so much stuff that we trust are good quality. We trust products, and we have no idea from where they came. It just makes you wonder what other stuff isn't made with care.
I would definitely agree that the FDA has NO clue whats going on and that every day they continue to very knowingly let poisons contaminate our food and unsafe drugs enter the market. On the other hand, I personally see the FDA as a hugely corrupted and incompetent organization and shudder at the thought of "giving them more control."
I think this article was very well written, and the author seemed to be both passionate and believable. I also agree with the author that some of the things we read may not be exactly what we think. There are so many things that we hear and we just assume that they are ture, but where is the infromation coming from and where is the initial source.
I hate hearing about these things. It seems like we can't trust anything. We are going to have start raising our own animals to eat to make sure we are not going to get sick. However, not many people can care for animals so it seems like we can't get around this problem. It just sucks.
It sounds as though this article was well written, but could have used more research. Perhaps if the author would include the reason for the beef being bad, the article would have been more intreseting.
