When i first saw the title of this article, i assumed the author was going to propose a legitimate way for police to enforce the speed limit in Louisiana. Instead, the author just called everyone who violates the speed limit on the highways a moron. This is his opinion, so i can't say whether he is right or wrong, but he should atleast have thought through this and proposed a real fix to this problem instead of writing a letter with an angry tone. Which in turn caused me to critique his letter more than i would of if i wouldn't have been angry after reading his letter. Obviously this guy is a moron for thinking anyone who violates a speed limit is a moron. I feel the problem is not the "speed" that cars are traveling, because any automobile accident can be fatal, even at 30 mph. I feel its the "quality" of the drivers skills that help prevent accidents. I feel this article was just written out after the author had a slight experience with road rage, because thats the entire tone of this opinion. But i guess i could say it was well written if i base that off of me understanding and feeling this mans upset anger through his words. In conclusion it doesn't offer any fix to this problem and he wrote the article out of anger.

I completely agree with you, it's not the speed but how the driver drives. I get way more irritated with drivers who can't use their turn signal or cut people off than someone who is speeding. This person obviously had to vent out their frustration by writing about it rather than dealing with it like the rest of us.
The letter seems to be not that accurate in that it was wrote in anger it seems. I also agree that someone could be a fast driver and have better driving skills, that would lead to not having a wreck. Also speed is sometimes an issue in the seriousness of wrecks but it is not the whole factor.
I think your author was definately just involved a case of road rage. His article made no sense and had no point. I agree with your point that speeding does not cause bad wrecks, but it is people who drive carelessly who cause them.
I agree in that it's not just the speed that makes a car dangerous, it's the way people are driving. Of course, anything is dangerous at 100 mph, but you are a moron if you drive THAT fast because you'll get pulled over by the police. There are times when you can go faster than the speed limit, but its all about using your judgement. Speed limits over 80 are probably more dangerous because you can lose control easier and hurt others, but you are definitely not a moron if you're driving defensively and safely.
I think the guy who worte this article should have thought about what he was saying a little more. Perhaps he knows someone who was killedby somone traveling at a high speed and that is why he is so angry. The fact is chances are he speeds somtimes too. I do not think that speeding is the most dangerous problem on the road. Other people such as drunck drivers could be referred to as morons.
There are too many "morons" on the road. And I also don't believe that it's because of those who speed. I believe it's those who just don't think. When people on the interstate decide to ride side by side not allowing anyone to pass. I struggle with a huge problem with road rage, and it's not the speeders who get to me. It's the "morons" who get to me.
