The Death Penalty Returns (New York Times)
"We believe that the taking of a life by the state is in all cases wrong, but it is particularly so with the deeply flawed system that exists today." This quote is taken from the Article The Death Penalty Returns. The article mainly talks about the rise of discussion in bringing back the death penalty. I can not totally understand whether or not the author is for or against the death penalty, however, some do argue that it might not be such a good idea for the simple fact that it has been found that some innocent people have been put to death. One guy explained, "his hope that the case would generate debate not just about lethal injection but about the justification for the death penalty itself.” In addition, it talks about Texas and how there will be, without a doubt, a number of people put to death if this occurs. That's pretty scary knowing that Texas is a very close state to us! In closing, the article says that there will be various debates towards this subject across the entire country.
